Lenny and Carol began Carlen Transport as an owner operator. They operated a 1983 International 9670 cab over tractor and hauled a 45' flat bed trailer and traveled all over the Eastern U.S. After one year, they left the road and purchased several trucks and fleet contracted to several carriers. During April of 1991, Carlen Transport received ICC authority and started hauling products direct for several major corporations. Today, Carlen Transport operates in all 48 states and Eastern Canada. The company has over 140 tractors and 150 trailers. Carol now works part-time in the office and spends most of her time dedicated to raising their two sons Benjamin and Jonathan. Their oldest son Daniel attends college at the University of Maine and is majoring in business administration. Daniel also is employed part-time at Carlen Transport.
